Top 3 FREE Domain Providers WITHOUT hosting in 2023!

Are you looking for free domains? You want to start a business but you don’t have enough money to create a website? Or it’s just for fun? This article is suitable for you. In today’s article, I am going to introduce a few free domains providers to you.

If you search for “Free domains” on Google, you’ll find a ton of companies telling you they offer domains for free. Be aware! Almost always they’re not actually free. What they mean by “free” is that if you buy something else (almost always a hosting plan), then they throw a domain name on top for no additional cost. That’s not free, that’s just marketing.

These are they domains that really free even you don’t join their hosting plan.

1. Freenom / Dot.tk

Freenom is my first choice of free domain provide company which provides .tk/.ml/.ga/.cf/.gq Top-Level domain (TLD). You can register unlimited domains. Each domains are free for 1 years, but you can renew it for FREE with a single click.

1. Change Nameservers
2. Edit DNS (A/AAAA/CNAME/TXT/MX/SOA)
3. Register glue records
4. Url forwarding

Disadvantages

• Can’t use for Google Workspace.
• Freenom may cut down your domain without notice.

3domains is my second choice of considering free domain. They provide .coms.hk/.nets.hk/.orgs.hk free sub-domain name. Look cool right?

Disadvantages

• Too similar to .com.hk/.net.hk/.org.hk. The autocorrect function may consider it as a typo, or people maybe confused.
• Can’t change nameservers.

3. biz.nf

biz.nf is my third choice of free domain provider which provides .c1.biz sub-domain name.

Features

• Free web hosting plan
• Free web builder
• Webmail

Disadvantages

• Need higher technique

Registration steps

Since the registration steps of biz.nf is a bit complicated. I will go through it with you.

Type the domain name you want and click “register”. If the domain name is available, a message will pop up, click “Register Now”

Choose “FREE Hosting Plan” in the “Hosting Plan” column. Skip the other columns and click “Continue”

Fill in the required information and tick the “Yes, I agree” box. Verify the reCAPTCHA and click “Continue”

A verification email will be sent to your email. Click on the link

You will be redirected to this page.

Roll down and you will see the “Register Domain” function. Click on it

Link to “Create a free .c1.biz Domain” on the left menu bar. Type the domain name you want. Then click on “Create”

As you can see, the UI is similar to the one of MySQL. Therefore, it requires some techniques to learn the ropes.
